Die Studiengänge Architektur laden ein zur Vortragsreihe »POSITION.EN – Forschung und Experiment zu Raum und Zeit«. Die Reihe zeigt verschiedene Betrachtungsweisen unserer Umwelt – ob vergangen oder zukünftig, ob alltäglich oder ungewöhnlich, ob vom Mensch gebaut oder aus der Natur. Internationale Persönlichkeiten aus Wissenschaft, Architektur und Kunst geben Einblicke in ihre Forschung und Praxis.

Der Architekt, Künstler und Ausstellungsgestalter Mindaugas Reklaitis spekuliert in seinem Vortrag über »A new dimension of experimental, performative or critical architecture« (Vortrag auf Englisch).
What are the primary elements of architecture? Can architecture exist without humans, without space, without matter? Does the phenomenon of architecture consist only of form and function? If not, then what constitutes architecture? To answer these questions, we need to rethink the architecture in the multidimensional contexts of the present and the future. Expanded notion of architecture together with ideas and concepts that are dominant in the contexts of contemporary art or philosophy allows us to reveal possibilities to use artistic research methodologies in experimental architecture. Discussing not only the tools used in the spatial experiments but also the aims of why we need to experiment or what is the problem to be solved shifts our focus beyond conventional architectural boundaries and opens up a new dimension of experimental, performative or critical architecture.
